Prof Elizabeth Clare
Prof Clare is an internationally recognized expert in biodiversity and environmental DNA. She spent many years as a researcher and university professor in England and now runs a large research lab in Canada. She is a fellow of the Linnaean Society of the UK, a Fellow of the Higher Education Association of the UK and in 2024 she was elected to the Royal Society of Canada in the college of New Scholars. She specializes in the teaching of large biology classes, particularly first year biology. She started making podcasts for her class almost by mistake, just audio files she gave them to help explain concepts. The students liked them so much they asked her to make them available as a real podcast they could subscribe to. It’s now her favourite teaching resource.
